Actor Anurag Sharma, who worked closely with Priya Marathe in ‘Pavitra Rishta’, shared an emotional tribute on social media. Posting a still from the show where they played husband and wife, Anurag wrote about his heartbreak.

He recalled their many memories together, calling her a “beautiful person, brilliant artist, and a friend.” In his heartfelt note, he mentioned that her laughter and warm nature will always be remembered. “It was an honor to share the screen with you, Priya. Rest in peace,” he added.
In ‘Pavitra Rishta’, Priya played Varsha, the bold and outspoken younger sister of Archana, a character essayed by Ankita Lokhande. The role was much loved by the audience, especially her chemistry with Anurag Sharma, who played her husband Satish.
The show, which also starred Sushant Singh Rajput, Usha Nadkarni, and Savita Prabhune, went on to become one of the most popular family dramas on Indian television.
At her funeral, actress Prarthana Behere, who played Priya’s on-screen younger sister in the show, was in tears.
A few years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer.
She is survived by her mother and husband, Shantanu Moghe, a respected actor in the Marathi entertainment industry.
Marathi star Subodh Bhave, who had been working with Priya in the show ‘Tu Bhetshil Navyane’, also spoke about her courage. In a post, he revealed that her cancer relapsed while they were shooting together. He admired her strength, saying that despite her health struggles, she never let it affect her professionalism or passion for acting.
